stoney creek engagement session: Kayla & Joseph

11.14.19

I loved getting to know Kayla and Joe as we walked around Stony Creek Metropark during their engagement session. The weather had been iffy at best that week, but we lucked out and landed with a beautiful afternoon filled with autumn color. The best part about these two is how Joe’s humor lights up Kayla’s face and we talked and laughed throughout the session. As you know, I LOVE when my couples bring their pup and this sweet babe was no exception! Talking to the two of them and feeling their laid back vibe makes me super excited to shoot their wedding this summer.

A big congrats to this sweet couple!

Rochester Engagement session: Andrea & Jeff

10.23.19

I met Andrea+Jeff out at her family's property by Paint Creek Trail in Rochester, which was super fun for me because I had never shot at this trail before. I love engagement sessions because it really allows me to get the vibe of my couples and it allows them the opportunity to see the way we will work together — and I think that alleviates some of the anxiety and pressure of being in front of the camera.

These two were complete naturals and I love that they brought their super sweet rescue pup to the session (who stole the show!)! The sun kept popping through those clouds to give us lovely light (you know how I feel about that sunshine!) and I had the best time getting to know them as we walked up and down the trail and shot along the property. It made me super excited to photograph their wedding next fall.

Congratulations, you two! xo

detroit engagement session: Jen & Jared

10.23.19

I love shooting downtown for my engagement sessions. It’s just a little bit easier to make your way around the city when it’s just the two of you, or in this case, the two of you and your rescue pup!

I met Jen+Jared down at the Detroit Institute of Arts and it was a glorious almost-fall day filled with lots of sunshine. These two have killer style and I love how they play off of one another’s personalities. Jen proclaims that Jared is the fun one, and while I can see that he’s definitely someone everyone enjoys being around, Jen’s smile is so warm and inviting and I truly enjoyed my time with them. After some snuggling in front of the DIA, we headed over to The Belt for some street and sunset shots as the day came to a close. I’m very much looking forward to shooting their wedding this Spring. It will be here before we know it! xo

University of Michigan Engagement session: Brittany & Michael

8.29.19

Brittany & Michael had to reschedule their engagement shoot, which is not an easy thing to do with a recent move back to Michigan and super busy work schedules, but man was it worth it! We had a perfect Michigan summer evening as we walked around the campus at University of Michigan for their engagement session. These two beautiful people both went to the university, but they shared that they did not begin dating until after they graduated, and I LOVE that they chose a space meaningful to them! We began at the law quad where I found these two easily make each other smile. They looked perfect and were so effortless to photograph; I always love it when we fall into an easy rhythm. It’s hard to believe I’ll be seeing them in just a couple of months when I shoot their wedding this fall.

A big congratulations to the both of you! xo

Downtown Detroit engagement session: Amanda & John

4.24.19

If you live in Michigan, you know that April could bring an array of weather, so I was thrilled when Amanda+John made their way in from Seattle and we had sunshine! I didn’t say it was warm, but we had that glorious sun and that is a win! We shot downtown, beginning in Belt Alley, and I was all smiles as these two were so easy to photograph! I enjoyed walking between the buildings with the graffiti for the urban vibe, but I was so geeked when we stumbled upon the black wall of the new Shinola Hotel! These were my favorite images of the day (!), so anything beyond this was just a bonus. After an already fabulous session, we then ended on the rooftop of the Z Parking garage for a beautiful skyline shot before saying our goodbyes. I had a blast with the both of you and wish you nothing but everlasting happiness! Congratulations! xo
