Villa Penna wedding: Lea & David

I have been looking forward to Lea and David’s wedding day ever since I spent a beautiful fall evening photographing their engagement session.

The two of them are absolutely adorable, and are naturals in front of the camera! They made our jobs as photographers easy, and their entire event was sheer perfection.

The couple started the day getting ready at The Royal Park Hotel in Rochester. This venue is one of my favorites for a number of reasons- one being how much photographic potential all the rooms have. With the bridesmaids donning their matching robes, we were able to capture some lovely images right off the bat!

I love what a giving heart Lea clearly has. She is such a kind person and presented everyone with special gifts as a “thank you” for being a part of her and David’s day. I must admit, I may have shed a few joyful tears at her thoughtfulness.

Lea and David looked smashing in their attire, and their ceremony and reception at Villa Penna perfectly matched the couple’s quiet elegance. All of the details of their day were beyond perfect from the florals by Floral Designs by Lori and a dessert table that would give the best bakeries a run for their money!

I am so happy to have been chosen to capture Lea and David’s big day, and wish them all the best in their future together!

Royal park hotel wedding: Stacey & Kalvin

I had such an amazing time photographing the wedding of Stacey and Kalvin!

The couple actually booked our team just three weeks before their big day, and we couldn’t have been a more perfect fit. I have a feeling this was due, in part, to our mutual love of dogs. (As you can see, the Stacey and Kalvin’s gorgeous Great Pyrenees is a huge part of their lives!)

Zero’s photo debut, coupled with their small guest list of just 35 people, made my photographer heart ridiculously happy. Intimate affairs are my jam, as they allow me to spend more time photographing and getting to know my bride and groom.

Stacey and Kevin’s ceremony took place at the gorgeous Kirk in the Hills in Bloomfield. With its lovely architecture and beautiful gardens and grounds, we had the most idyllic location for formal photos. I was blown away by how dazzling Stacey looked in her simple, yet elegant gown and gorgeous bouquet by Flowers by Amore. Kalvin was her perfect match in his navy suit. (My favorite attire for grooms!)

The two finished up their perfect day at the Roya Park Hotel with a small and personal dinner party followed with delicious cake made by Home Bakery. It was clear from numerous speeches, and the endless flow of happy tears, that this couple is deeply loved and admired by all.

I wish only the best for Stacey and Kalvin, and hope for a lifetime of happiness for them both!

Detroit Golf Club Wedding: Natalie & Nick

Our team had such an amazing time at Natalie and Nick’s wedding.

Their ceremony took place at the gorgeous Sweetest Heart of Mary Church in downtown Detroit.  With its gorgeous stained glass windows, beautiful architecture, and intricate artwork and gilding, it is by far one of my favorite ceremony locations. Natalie was stunning in her Romona Keveza gown, and Nick looked quite dapper himself!

Although it was supposed to rain, we were lucky enough to have a perfectly warm and sunny spring day. The two chose to have photos taken at their Alma Mater- The University of Detroit Mercy. The location holds a special place in their hearts as this is where the two first met. We also stopped at the historic Fisher Building for our bridal party photos. Its art deco vibe made for the perfect backdrop to stunning group images!

We then finished up our day at the Detroit Golf Club for Natalie and Nick’s reception. Floral Designs by Lori outdid themselves once again with the gorgeous flower arrangments. Everyone had a blast and were clearly over-the-moon happy for this awesome couple.

Congratulations you two!  May you have many happy years together!

The Inn at st. john's wedding: Caitlin & Preston

I absolutely adore winter weddings. So, I was simply ecstatic when Caitlin and Preston chose me to photograph their big day this past February!

All of the events were held at the The Inn at St. John's. Caitlin had reserved the bridal suite for her “getting ready” photos, and we had SO much fun taking pictures of her party jumping on the bed. Their matching PJs looked so comfy and warm!

Once Caitlin slipped on her dress, all thoughts of those jammies went out the window. She looked stunning! The fabric of her full skirt was divine, and the beading of her bodice was just exquisite.

Preston was equally as dapper in his tux. And, when Caitlin donned a fur shrug for their outdoor photos, the pair’s winter look was complete!

The ceremony was beautiful, and the reception equally as lovely. The couple chose to host dinner and dancing in the Inn’s atrium. I simply loved their layout, as well as all of the small details including the beautiful florals by Designs by Ella Rae.

To finish off the perfect event, Caitlin and Preston chose Collision Six an AMAZING live band for their entertainment. I think I speak for everyone when I say that their talent was jaw-dropping. The dance floor stayed full all night!

This couple is just so sweet, and I was so happy to be part of their big day.

Congratulations Caitlin and Preston!

The Dearborn Inn: Elizabeth & John

Elizabeth and John are such an amazing and sweet couple. It came as no surprise that their wedding day was equally perfect.

The events began at the beautiful Dearborn Inn, where the reception was to be held later that day. Elizabeth and her bridesmaids looked so relaxed and pretty in their matching robes, but were exceptionally lovely in their gowns. Liz’s dress was the perfect combination of simple and elegant, and may very well be one of my favorite gowns to date!

When we headed to the front of the building for the first look, and John saw his beautiful bride for the first time, you could physically feel the love and adoration the two have for one another. Those same emotions were evident throughout the day, and I was able to capture sweet looks and soft smiles that the coupled shared during the wedding ceremony at the gorgeous Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

The reception kicked off with a few hilarious speeches and was a joyous occasion filled with laughter and dancing. The reception room looked gorgeous with hints of blush flowers on the tables and gold Chiavari chairs. The Pastry Palace made a beautiful three-tiered cake for the occasion and it was a pleasure to work with The Dan Rafferty Band.

Huge congratulations to both Elizabeth and John. It was such a pleasure to photograph your day!
