The dearborn Inn: Kimberly & Thomas

Kimberly and Thomas’ wedding was such a beautiful affair!

We started off their day at the lovely Dearborn Inn. It is one of my favorite locations because it offers such diverse looks that are perfectly suited for a myriad of photos. It serves as the perfect backdrop for preparation images, formal portraits, and candids of eager party-goers!

Kimberly looked absolutely stunning in her elegant gown, and her beauty was only enhanced by her excitement to be marrying Thomas. He too, looked positively dapper in his formalwear, making the two such a lovely pair!

The couple chose to recite their vows at the gorgeous Ss. Peter & Paul Jesuit Church . I absolutely love when my couple’s choose historical Detroit locations for their wedding day!

We wrapped up our time together back at the Dearborn Inn, where Kimberly and Thomas celebrated their new life together surrounded by their closest family and friends. The reception room was decor was simple but elegant with accents of gold and beautiful floral arrangments by Bellisario Florist. It was a perfect setting for such a marvelous night. Everyone danced late into the night with music by Bluewater Kings Band. It was clear how much the two are loved, and how bright their future together truly will be!

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Detroit yacht club wedding: Alyson & Teddy

I absolutely love photographing weddings. The day is always so full of joy and emotion- I couldn’t ask for a better job! However, this event was made even more special when I get to work with a couple as sweet and laid back as Alyson and Teddy!

We started the day off by taking photos of the ladies getting ready in a beautiful room at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. It had the most gorgeous views of Detroit, and its floor to ceiling windows made for the perfect setting for lovely detail shots.

I may have gasped a bit when Alyson put on her gown- it seemed made JUST for her, and she looked absolutely STUNNING in it.

We then headed to Belle Isle Park where Teddy and Alyson shared their first look. Fate seemed to be on our side that day, as the location the couple had chosen was initially packed with people. However, when it came time for the duo to see each other for the first time, an entire area of the fountain cleared, and we were able to capture their first look, as well as a myriad of lovely posed shots!

The pair chose the Detroit Yacht Club as their ceremony and reception venue. As always, the location did not disappoint! With its high ceilings, soft tones, and beautiful wedding decor chosen by the bride, it was a stunning location for the pair to share their nuptials- and for guests celebrate the couple’s big day! Michael B. Anthony did an amazing job with the bride's gorgeous bouquet and the simple yet elegant table greenery. Sweet Dreams created a stunning cake that made for some of my favorite photo moments with this fun couple. The event Planner Carrie with Touch of Elegance kept the night flowing smoothly while the Bluewater Kings Band helped guest dance the night away.

The event was absolutely perfect in every way, and I wish Alyson and Teddy all the best in their future together!

Villa Penna wedding: Lea & David

I have been looking forward to Lea and David’s wedding day ever since I spent a beautiful fall evening photographing their engagement session.

The two of them are absolutely adorable, and are naturals in front of the camera! They made our jobs as photographers easy, and their entire event was sheer perfection.

The couple started the day getting ready at The Royal Park Hotel in Rochester. This venue is one of my favorites for a number of reasons- one being how much photographic potential all the rooms have. With the bridesmaids donning their matching robes, we were able to capture some lovely images right off the bat!

I love what a giving heart Lea clearly has. She is such a kind person and presented everyone with special gifts as a “thank you” for being a part of her and David’s day. I must admit, I may have shed a few joyful tears at her thoughtfulness.

Lea and David looked smashing in their attire, and their ceremony and reception at Villa Penna perfectly matched the couple’s quiet elegance. All of the details of their day were beyond perfect from the florals by Floral Designs by Lori and a dessert table that would give the best bakeries a run for their money!

I am so happy to have been chosen to capture Lea and David’s big day, and wish them all the best in their future together!

Royal park hotel wedding: Stacey & Kalvin

I had such an amazing time photographing the wedding of Stacey and Kalvin!

The couple actually booked our team just three weeks before their big day, and we couldn’t have been a more perfect fit. I have a feeling this was due, in part, to our mutual love of dogs. (As you can see, the Stacey and Kalvin’s gorgeous Great Pyrenees is a huge part of their lives!)

Zero’s photo debut, coupled with their small guest list of just 35 people, made my photographer heart ridiculously happy. Intimate affairs are my jam, as they allow me to spend more time photographing and getting to know my bride and groom.

Stacey and Kevin’s ceremony took place at the gorgeous Kirk in the Hills in Bloomfield. With its lovely architecture and beautiful gardens and grounds, we had the most idyllic location for formal photos. I was blown away by how dazzling Stacey looked in her simple, yet elegant gown and gorgeous bouquet by Flowers by Amore. Kalvin was her perfect match in his navy suit. (My favorite attire for grooms!)

The two finished up their perfect day at the Roya Park Hotel with a small and personal dinner party followed with delicious cake made by Home Bakery. It was clear from numerous speeches, and the endless flow of happy tears, that this couple is deeply loved and admired by all.

I wish only the best for Stacey and Kalvin, and hope for a lifetime of happiness for them both!

Detroit Golf Club Wedding: Natalie & Nick

Our team had such an amazing time at Natalie and Nick’s wedding.

Their ceremony took place at the gorgeous Sweetest Heart of Mary Church in downtown Detroit.  With its gorgeous stained glass windows, beautiful architecture, and intricate artwork and gilding, it is by far one of my favorite ceremony locations. Natalie was stunning in her Romona Keveza gown, and Nick looked quite dapper himself!

Although it was supposed to rain, we were lucky enough to have a perfectly warm and sunny spring day. The two chose to have photos taken at their Alma Mater- The University of Detroit Mercy. The location holds a special place in their hearts as this is where the two first met. We also stopped at the historic Fisher Building for our bridal party photos. Its art deco vibe made for the perfect backdrop to stunning group images!

We then finished up our day at the Detroit Golf Club for Natalie and Nick’s reception. Floral Designs by Lori outdid themselves once again with the gorgeous flower arrangments. Everyone had a blast and were clearly over-the-moon happy for this awesome couple.

Congratulations you two!  May you have many happy years together!
