Grosse Pointe Engagement Session: Erin & Seth

I had such an amazing time photographing Erin and Seth’s engagement session in Patterson Park in Grosse Pointe. With its enchanting gazebo, beautiful boardwalk, and blossoming trees, the location made for a picture perfect setting to document this couple’s love for one another.

I met the pair at Erin’s parents' house where she grew up. And, because family was in from out of town, we had our own cheerleading team at the session itself. I was able to meet a good chunk of the couple’s extended family, and our walk to the park afforded me the opportunity to get to know Erin and Seth a little better.

Not only is the pair extremely photogenic, but they are sweet and funny as well. In addition to the “normal” shots, we took a few silly ones- at the couple’s request.

Erin and Seth are extremely fun to work with. I just know their wedding is going to be amazing. The love they have for one another is evident, and I truly can’t wait to photograph their big day!

The Colony Club Wedding: Alyssa & Royden

I absolutely love photographing weddings.  They are beautiful, fast-paced, exciting, and so very emotive.  Alyssa and Royden’s big day was no exception.

The couple’s choice of venues was exquisite.  My team began the day by taking photos of the bride and groom getting ready at the Detroit Foundation Hotel.  If you’ve never been to this amazing location, you are truly missing out.  It was a great setting for both detail and candid group shots. Not to mention the gorgeous lighting was perfect for showcasing Alyssa’s beauty!  Doesn’t she look stunning in her dress?

We next traveled to one of my favorite Detroit churches- St. Anne de Detroit.  With it’s gorgeous ceilings and amazing architecture, it proved to be both a romantic and charming locale for Alyssa and Royden’s nuptials.

We then wrapped up the event at the Colony Club- another of my faves.  From heartfelt speeches, to sweet first dances- their reception was absolutely flawless.  The Rolling Pin made the most beautiful gold and white cake that went perfectly with the Colony Club's gold accents. Kevin, of Twigs & Branches did a wonderful job with the floral and centerpiece details.

The day was truly picture perfect, and I feel so lucky to have been a small part of such a wonderful event.  I wish this sweet couple the absolute best on their future journeys, and know they will spend a lifetime of happiness together.

birmingham engagement session: kacie & matt

Kacie and Matt absolutely ROCKED their engagement session. Despite the gorgeous warm light seen in these photos, we had quite the blustery day. But, the pair took the chilliness in stride.

This was actually my first time meeting these two. Kacie’s mom, Kathy, is part of the crew here at Kristen Taylor & Co. Not only is she sweet and hilarious, but she’s a fantastic photographer and great second shooter! Thus, I wasn’t surprised to find that Kacie and Matt were just as much of a joy to be around!

We started the session by incorporating the couple’s dog, Thor, into some of the photos. He was absolutely adorable and well-behaved although he was a bit confused as to why he was a part of the event. LOL!

We finished up with portraits of just the couple and I loved watching these two interact as I worked. It is so obvious how very much in love Kacie and Matt are, and I can’t wait to see the two again in June when I capture their wedding vows!

detroit engagement session: Elizabeth & John

Elizabeth and John’s engagement session was absolutely amazing.

Elizabeth had arranged for our photoshoot to take place at Belle Isle in Detroit. If you’ve never been, you must go!!! The architecture and picturesque setting is to die for. It's the absolute perfect backdrop to a romantic photo shoot.

I especially loved this session because the couple decided to incorporate their fur baby, “Palmer” into the photos. Animals- especially dogs- are near and dear to my heart. Having my own chocolate lab, you can imagine how thrilled I was to capture a few “family” photos for them.

The pooch aside, Liz and John are such a stunning couple, and are so sweet and tolerant. (It was FREEZING on the day we had chosen for photos, but these two endured the chill and completely ROCKED their session!)

It was so fun working with them, and I simply can’t wait to photograph them on their big day!

Rochester engagement session: lindsey & james

I had such an amazing time photographing Lindsey and James’ engagement in downtown Rochester. The pair was up for anything, and by the end of the session I felt as if I’d known the two forever.

Despite bone-chilling temperatures and a near foot of snow, we managed to capture some amazing shots. And, we even were able warm up while enjoying chocolate milkshakes at the iconic “Red Knapps”.

I absolutely love winter sessions, and the festive lights of downtown Rochester only lended to the gorgeous snowy background. We may have been extremely cold, but I truly feel as though battling the frigid temperatures was worth it!

The pair is absolutely adorable, and so so sweet. (They saved me after I accidentally locked my keys in my car.) The love they have for one another is evident, and I truly can’t wait to photograph their big day!
