community house wedding: katie & nick

8.25.17 - weddings by Kristin G.

I had been looking forward to shooting Katie+Nick’s wedding for months and my gut reaction was spot on because it was one killer day! Katie got ready with her sweet parents and best girls at a beautiful suite at the Townsend and while I always love the getting ready portion of the day, the detail I loved most was the delicate lace purse that both her mother and grandmother carried before her. All of Katie’s design choices were divine, but I have to give a shout out to the bedazzled sneakers that she purchased to dance the night away at the reception! Before we knew it we were on our way to Holy Name Catholic Church where an emotional groom waited to greet his bride. Following the ceremony, we headed into downtown Birmingham for some portraits with their rockstar wedding party and I simply could not get enough portraits of this stunning bride+groom. Nick looked so handsome and Katie was a classic beauty. We then made our way over to the Birmingham Community House for their grand entrance. Not surprisingly, the reception room was decorated beautifully with a delicous cake from Mannino's Bakery and gorgeous floral centerpieces. We also loved the invitations by Festivities Studio. I could barely hold it together as Katie’s dad toasted to his daughter and new son (oh my gosh, the tears!) and I’m sure I had the biggest smile on my face as all of their Marquette friends packed the front steps of the Community House for a portrait. You both deserve nothing but a lifetime of happiness! A huge congrats to the new Mr.+Mrs.! xo
