Detroit Historical Museum Wedding: Emily & Joe

11.20.18 - weddings by Courtney

If you love Detroit you will L-O-V-E this wedding. It was an absolute dream to photograph at a ton of my favorite downtown spots but mostly because of how wonderful a couple Emily and Joe are. Laid Back, happy and kind as can be. These two made my job so dreamy. We started with getting ready photos at the Detroit Marriot at the Renaissance Center. The view from the room and everything in it was amazing. Emily had added a bit to the design of her dress which absolutely made it perfect and she was beautiful. Emily and Joe had their first look out on the River walk and with the wind blowing in their hair they couldn’t have looked happier. We drove off to a whirlwind of Detroit locations for pics with the first spot at the Joe Louis Fist.... where Joe proposed. Their ceremony was in the Guardian Building where they were surrounded by family and friends and they had the sweetest way to remember loved ones who have passed into their ceremony. They personally handed out white lily's representing each person and you could just feel the room filled with love.
The reception was at the Detroit Historical Museum and was seriously the coolest. The strolling dinner was amazing! Everywhere you turned there was something super delicious to eat. Sliders with their initials grilled in the buns, mini grilled cheese, Faygo floats for dessert and their beautiful wedding cake by Love & Buttercream were just some of my favorites. The reception room looked gorgeous with Flowers by Twigs & Branches Floral, and Jennie of Beautiful Day Planning kept the day running smoothly. As our coverage ended we packed up with huge smiles on our faces while the dance floor, under a replica Tiger Stadium, rocked on! This was seriously one of the best weddings with a serious nod to the best of Detroit. Congrats to you both.
